Parents’ control
Kyivstar developed and implemented a special free service for cell phones named “Parents’ Control”, which protects children from online threats, such as sites that promote violence, pornography and distributing other negative content. “Parents’ Control” can be applied when using GPRS and WAP-access to the Internet from a cell phone. Kyivstar’s new social service gives access only to a limited list of safe and useful sites for children approved by experts from the Institute of Psychology named after G. Kostiuk of the NAPS of Ukraine. Only the company experts can edit the list of web-sites. Umping to external links out of the safe list is blocked.
The technical solution based on the list of safe sites is provided to all Kyivstar customers. You may activate the service on your kid’s phone by dialing the request number *100*5*2*XXXX# where XXXX stands for the parent’s password containing numbers from 0 to 9.

Short message emergency service for people with impaired hearing and speech
Kyivstar provides short message emergency service for people with impaired hearing and speech in the 24 cities of Ukraine where people with special needs can call in emergency services “101”, “102”, “103” and “104” without obstacles on their own with the help of a text message.
Kyivstar equipped operator rooms with special hardware and software and provided a short message broadcast to centers of operator support on special text numbers. Now through sending a text message on a special short number people with impaired hearing and speech can call in emergency services without outer help. In turn, emergency operators can see on the display all the necessary information about the user including his personal data, physiological characteristics, diagnosis, location and aid request.
